Welcome to Our New Engage Maple Ridge Site
As the City continues to enhance its community engagement tools and channels, we have migrated our site to Social Pinpoint, a leading platform used by cities across Canada, North America, and beyond.
With new engagement tools, Engage.MapleRidge.ca will be able to better meet the needs of our diverse community, from more interactive and easy-to-use ways for participants to provide input to more accessible content.
What is Engage Maple Ridge?
Engage Maple Ridge is a digital community engagement platform to increase awareness of City projects and encourage input as part of the City's decision-making process. Information and feedback received through the platform will inform Council’s decisions on a wide variety of matters, including how taxpayer dollars are spent and how the community will grow in the short and long term.
Engage Maple Ridge will help ensure that staff connects with the community in a consistent and meaningful way; it's intended to complement, not replace, other means of community engagement, such as open houses, focus groups, etc..
The platform provides a range of options for feedback and discussion and will give the City a deeper understanding of the community’s priorities.
The interactive tools available through Engage Maple Ridge include surveys, short polls, forums, interactive maps, and more.
Why Engage?
Community engagement is a key component of ensuring that the City of Maple Ridge is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. The feedback that Council and staff receive from the public is the engine that drives the municipality forward and makes Maple Ridge a vibrant city.
Levels of Engagement - IAP2
While you're exploring certain projects on the Engage Maple Ridge platform, you might notice a reference to "IAP2" or, the International Association for Public Participation. IAP2's Spectrum of Public Participation was designed to help select the level of participation that defines the public's role in any community engagement process. The Spectrum is used internationally, and it is found in many community engagement plans.
The City of Maple Ridge uses the Spectrum to guide our engagement work and will also use it as a foundational element in the development of our Guide for Community Engagement and Engagement Framework (see below).
Coming Soon
Intended to work in tandem with Engage Maple Ridge, the City is developing a Community Engagement Framework and related internal standard procedures and tools. The Framework and procedures will help staff develop community engagement opportunities that are consistent, meaningful, and accessible.
More information is coming soon!
