Community Engagement Phase 2: Concept Plans
Thank you to everyone who participated in phase 1 engagement to help us identify what residents would like to see in this new neighbourhood park. The community is now invited to provide feedback on park concept plans and playground options by taking the survey by June 18 and/or attending the open house on June 11 from 4-7pm at the new park site, 13650 232A St.

Community Engagement
The community is invited to share their feedback on the concept plans and playground options by taking a survey and/or attending the open house at the new park site on June 11 from 4-7pm.
The first phase of community engagement was conducted from Jan 23 - Feb 13, 2025 and focused on selecting which amenities to include in this neighbourhood park.
An online survey (also available in print) was offered and an open house was held on Feb 4 from 4-7 pm at the Eagles Hall. Open house attendees also engaged in an interactive plan-a-park activity.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
We received over 300 survey responses and welcomed approximately 15 attendees to our open house.

Background
We are building a new neighbourhood park in Silver Valley to meet the needs of this growing community! The new park will include amenities selected by the community through a public engagement process.
This new neighbourhood park is located between 232A Street and Blaney Road at 13650 232A St. The location was determined through the Silver Valley Area Plan which forms part of the City’s Official Community Plan. The design and development of this park is included in the City’s 2025 Capital Plan.
This future park area is approximately one acre in size, partially cleared and with an existing stand of spruce trees in the north-east corner. The site slopes downhill from Blaney Rd towards 232A Street. The future park is located beside a conservation area to the north and Silver Valley trail system access to the east. The site is located to the west of the North Alouette River with access to the Silver Valley trail network across Blaney Road.
Neighbourhood parks are intended to serve the area within a five-minute walk to the park or approximately 500m radius. Nearby parks are Blaney Hamlet Park and Birch Park.

This means that we will work with you (the public) to ensure that your concerns and aspirations are directly reflected in the project. We will also provide feedback on how public input influenced the decision.
