Spray park at Maple Ridge Park
We are building a new spray park at Maple Ridge Park.
A concept plan has been developed using the feedback collected in summer 2023 through our public survey for Maple Ridge Park.
This spray park concept strives to be cohesive with the new playground’s look and feel, provide a larger area of play, and incorporate the community's top requested features including:
- Water play station
- Spray tunnel
- Ground jets
Please take a moment to review the concept plan.
Community Engagement - Completed
- Thank you for participating in our open house and who responded to our online survey form that closed on February 19, 2024. The feedback that we received will help us shape the final spray park design.

Background
Maple Ridge Park is one of the most popular and oldest destination parks in the area, and the oldest park in Maple Ridge. Located along the South Alouette River at the corner of 232 Street and Fern Crescent, this park offers an expanse of mature forest nursing a wide array of native plants and wildlife. Each fall the South Alouette River welcomes large populations of spawning salmon.
The park’s amenities include:
- Playground
- Spray Park
- Picnic Shelters
- Washrooms
- Open Green Space
- Park Benches
- Parking
- Picnic Areas
- River Access
- Trails
As outlined in the 2023 Parks, Recreation and Master Plan, the city is beginning a multi-year improvement project for Maple Ridge Park. This process will aim to identify opportunities to improve this park for the betterment of the community and the environment.
Level of Engagement - Involve
The engagement for this project is at the "involve" level of the International Association for Public Participation's (IAP2) Spectrum of Public Participation. This means that we will work with you (the public) to ensure that your concerns and aspirations are directly reflected in the project. We will also provide feedback on how public input influenced the decision.
